Accessibility
We want Parmesan to be usable by everyone. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA across our app and website, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time checkbox.
What we've done
- Full VoiceOver support in the app, with meaningful labels on controls and spoken error messages.
- Text that scales with the system's Dynamic Type / larger-text settings.
- Color contrast that meets or exceeds the WCAG AA 4.5:1 ratio for text.
- Touch targets sized for easy activation, and keyboard/switch navigation on Mac.
- Web pages with proper landmarks, a skip-to-content link, and links distinguishable by more than color.
Known limitations
Parmesan is in active development, and some newer areas may not yet fully meet our accessibility goals. We test with assistive technology as we build and fix issues as we find them.
